Michelle Samplin-Salgado
(that's me!)

Hi, I'm Michelle.

CREATIVE DIRECTOR. Founder.

I'm a visual designer, creative, health communicator, yogi, and scuba diver. I care deeply and am passionate about the role of design to inspire change. I started Red Sofa Designs, a small boutique agency so that I could spend my days creating things that mean something and can have an impact.

I earned a Bachelors of Health Sciences from the University of Arizona and a Masters Degree in Public Health from the University of Hawai'i. I've studied art and design at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School, Harvard Extension and Summer Schools, the South Florida Art Center, and took loads of summer and after school art classes as a little girl growing up in Phoenix, Arizona. And I was a research fellow in Vietnam and a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador.

Back in the day, I had a very comfortable red sofa. When I was first starting out as a designer in Boston, I spent a lot of time on that sofa - creating materials and websites for yoga studios, non-profits,  public health organizations, and small businesses. I moved to Miami and sold the red sofa. Now my sofa is gray...though the spirit of the red sofa lives on.

And I’m Diego

CO-FOUNDER.

I’m a professionally trained chef, though I’ve hung up my apron and now channel my creative energy at Red Sofa. I’ve studied at Wyncode and continue self-training in all things design, from motion graphics, to video, to visual arts. Originally from Quito, Ecuador, we came to Miami after spending 14 years Boston.

Take a look around our site. If you like what you see, let's talk. We'd love to get to know you and perhaps design your next project.
